Over 30 students decided not to stay at home for their summer break, but to go across the ocean and meet children who are abandoned, abused and orphaned. For the past two months SunErgos hosted five camps with the help of four Ministry teams from USA and Canada. Our last day in the orphanage was Thursday and the day went well. First thing when we arrived in the morning one of the older teens tugged on all of our heart strings when he asked if we could come back more days and not have Thursday be our last day. It was such a joy to know that we have confirmation that we had built good relationships with the kids and have them want us to continue to spend time with them, but sad as we knew we wouldn’t be able to do so.
Holly: I am loving living in St. Petersburg. I’ve enjoyed touring the city and spending quality time with the children. I was feeling a little under the weather over the weekend, but thanks to your prayers never fully got sick. It has been so neat to see the progress in the children’ attitudes. Each child has a special story and I’ve enjoyed hearing various details from them. I also love when it’s not raining and we are able to take the children outside. It’s that time, the time when we have to say goodbye. However before we say goodbye we would like to give you one last update of our amazing experience here in Russia.
