Last day of children camp for the Vanguard Team…

Today was the last day of our 2 week camp at the TB Children Center.

For friends and family who are worried about our location: this is a place where kids who have been exposed to TB come to be checked and go through a 3-6 month treatment to make sure that they do not have the disease. No child is contagious.

Yesterday afternoon we were given a chance to visit a baby orphanage where kids from age two to seven stay until they are adopted or transferred to an orphanage for older kids. Continue reading

News from the Vanguard team!

This past week has been life changing spending time with all these precious children. We have spent hours playing all kinds of games with them, talking one on one with everyone, teaching them about God and just being with them and loving them. They have opened up so much and connected with us in so many ways. We are their role models and they look up to us. They love playing outside no matter what the games are and they are very active. The first 3 days of ministry for CBU Team…

We’ve finished our third day at the transit center. For those of you who don’t know, the kids at the transit center are usually social orphans; they may have an actual guardian, probably not a parent, but the guardian cannot take care of them so they end up at this center. Many of them come from abusive backgrounds and have never experienced a healthy family situation; however, the kids are continuing to warm up to us as we invest in them.

An update from CBU Team

The city is beautiful and some of us are ready to move here. We have been learning a lot about Russia, it’s history and people with Tanya and Misha these past few days. We’ve successfully navigated our way through the city to find markets and cathedrals, as assigned in our training; exploring the city is always fun. Continue reading
