CBU and Vanguard: First day in Russia!

We are back to training! The first day of training for the CBU and Vanguard teams has finished and the teams are all sleeping soundly after their first full day in Russia. The teams send their greetings to friends and family from Saint Petersburg, Russia! They are excited to be finally in Russia, after such a long time of preparation for their trip. Vanguard: And they have arrived!

Vanguard Team has arrived!  They are partnering with SunErgos to lead a 2 week camp at a TB Children Center in Novgorod. They had a delayed flight coming out of LA, which caused a missed connection in Moscow. All of their luggage made it with them and they are excited to finally be home! Well, their home for 3 weeks at least! After long travels, they are on their way to their place of housing to get the sleep that each one craves! Thank you everyone for your prayers! CBU: Team three has arrived!

A third team from California Baptist University has just arrived to lead our June camp in St Petersburg! Even though one suitcase is in transit, they are excited to finally be in Russia! And, after long travels, they are finally getting some long awaited rest and soon going to sleep!  Remember, it is 11 hours difference from their home, California, to St Petersburg time. Vanguard: Tomorrow we say goodbye…

Our time here in Russia is quickly winding down to an end. Tomorrow, we will finish the wonderful and fun two week day camp at the TB children’s center. It feels like just yesterday that we were meeting the kids and playing our first game of Russian zombie tag with them! Over the last two weeks, we performed a continuous skit in which Sean played our helpful and loyal guide. We came to the realization today that we have only three days remaining with the kids at the children’s center. The time here in Novgorod has been flying by. We started out our first week of ministry anxious about how the kids would receive us, but soon found that they were as excited to get to know us as we were to get to know them.
