Last day of ministry for CBU Team

Our last day in the orphanage was Thursday and the day went well. First thing when we arrived in the morning one of the older teens tugged on all of our heart strings when he asked if we could come back more days and not have Thursday be our last day. It was such a joy to know that we have confirmation that we had built good relationships with the kids and have them want us to continue to spend time with them, but sad as we knew we wouldn’t be able to do so.

Update from each CBU team member!

Holly: I am loving living in St. Petersburg. I’ve enjoyed touring the city and spending quality time with the children. I was feeling a little under the weather over the weekend, but thanks to your prayers never fully got sick. It has been so neat to see the progress in the children’ attitudes. Each child has a special story and I’ve enjoyed hearing various details from them. I also love when it’s not raining and we are able to take the children outside. Final update from Vanguard!

It’s that time, the time when we have to say goodbye. However before we say goodbye we would like to give you one last update of our amazing experience here in Russia. Last time we left you hanging with such anticipation for our sauna adventure! As we approached the sauna we weren’t exactly sure what to expect.

Last day of children camp for the Vanguard Team…

Today was the last day of our 2 week camp at the TB Children Center.

For friends and family who are worried about our location: this is a place where kids who have been exposed to TB come to be checked and go through a 3-6 month treatment to make sure that they do not have the disease. No child is contagious.

Yesterday afternoon we were given a chance to visit a baby orphanage where kids from age two to seven stay until they are adopted or transferred to an orphanage for older kids. Continue reading
