The first 3 days of ministry for CBU Team…

We’ve finished our third day at the transit center. For those of you who don’t know, the kids at the transit center are usually social orphans; they may have an actual guardian, probably not a parent, but the guardian cannot take care of them so they end up at this center. Many of them come from abusive backgrounds and have never experienced a healthy family situation; however, the kids are continuing to warm up to us as we invest in them. For the younger kids, Heads Up 7 Up and The Macarena are the favorites thus far. Four square is a hit with the older kids.

Our time there has been busy and exhausting, but we are glad to use our energy to give love to kids who have had a rough time of it.

Thank you all for your prayers. Our first day at the center was very successful, as even the older kids, who typically do not participate with visiting groups, were some of the first to come into the meeting room. The leader of the older teens, a 17 year old boy, has been involved all 3 days now, which has been a huge blessing; this was definitely an answer to prayer.

Please continue to lift up our team as we fight tiredness, as our days are long. The language barrier is also frustrating, but we continue to try to communicate with words and actions.

Pray that the kids will continue to open up to us, be willing to share about themselves and participate in conversations and activities. We are planning to engage the kids in serious spiritual conversations in the days to come, so please pray specifically for this to be fruitful.

Thank you all for your love, prayers and support. We know that we could not do this without the strength of the Lord and the power of prayer. We have sincerely felt the results of your prayers as we have encountered struggles and experienced victories.
