One week of ministry is now completed. We are tired, but so moved by how God has moved in our work. The kids are great to work with. They do everything we ask them to do and more. It is difficult to get away at the end of the day because they want to tell you bye and give us high five’s multiple times. Today was a difficult day because six of our students have completed their stay so we will not see them next week. They have opened up to our ministry so well and to not get to work with them another week is difficult.
We continue to see God’s hand in what we are doing in so many ways. Each day we ask for His will to be done and it often comes in ways in which we would have never attempted. Little things like safely riding the metro and bus system in a different country; looking at soup with some unique ingredients that we would have never tried – but so good; rain only lasting a few hours (so major when you have a 20′ X 20′ room to do games when you can’t go outside this becomes a major challenge).
We are also so thankful for the wonderful Russian people who assist us. The local churches which supply our meals and a place to sleep. Two great translators that go the extra mile to make sure things go well. The director of the orphanage who thanks us daily and yesterday brought baked goods for us to enjoy. The Russian people have been a delight.
We appreciate everyone back home praying for our needs. We have had a few in the group be a bit under the weather, but have been able to carry-on. We are so looking forward to a couple of days to relax a bit and be prepared for the next week of working with the kids.
Dale and the team.
