We’ve reached the final stretch of our time here in St. Petersburg. It is amazing to see how fast these three weeks have gone by. We got to do some sight-seeing yesterday and visited St. Isaac’s Cathedral and the Church of Spilled Blood. It was humbling to be inside such grandeur former places of worship. The architecture was overwhelming and the detail in the artwork was amazing. There is a fantastic view from the top of St. Isaac’s Cathedral and we were able to see the whole city from high above the other buildings. We also attended the Russian ballet. The theater was beautiful and we all enjoyed seeing the classic “Swan Lake” performed on stage (Yes, even the men on our team enjoyed the ballet).
We have two days left at the orphanage. It is difficult to imagine saying goodbye to the children, but we have a going-away party planned for them on our last day, which we are hoping will be a great way to end our time together.
Joel and Amy have made further progress with some of the older students and we are praying that they will continue to have bold conversations in these last two days. We hope we have made an impact on the lives of the children in the short three weeks we have been here, but we have faith that the Lord will be present there long after we have left.
Our only prayer request is that we will finish strong and accomplish the Lord’s will, regardless of what that may be.
Thank you for your love, support and prayers! See you in five days!
Courtney, Greg and the team.
