CBU – Novgorod: Building friendships

The past few days have been such an adventure…we haven’t even had the time to update this blog on time 🙂 On Wednesday at the orphanage, a group of musicians came to play for the children and teach them a bit about different instruments and sounds.  The children had a blast!  After the children’s dinner, we took them to a park nearby and had a group kicking around a soccer ball and a group picking flowers and making “flower crowns” for the girls.  While there, we learned a few Russian games that the children love to play. Intern: An update from Sean, our Intern for the summer.

CBU – Novgorod: Half way through the first week of camp!

Greetings from Novgorod! Today is our 3rd full day here and what a blessing it has been! While running the camps, we as a team will do ministry work through games, stories, crafts, … Continue reading

After spending several days in St. Petersburg learning about Russian history and culture, seeing sights around the city, and learning to find their way through the city on their own, Russia team B departed yesterday evening for the city of Novgorod, where they will begin their two week camp ministry. When the team arrived in Novgorod last night, the people of the church at which the team will be staying had prepared a very warm welcome for them. There was a hot meal ready and waiting, … Continue reading

Our first 2 teams have arrived!  After long travels, they are on their way to their place of housing to get some long awaited sleep! Thank you everyone for your prayers! Please continue to pray for the 2 teams from California Baptist University as they go through a 3 day training, learning about Russian history and culture, and memorizing some Russian words! The training empowers the teams to serve even better throughout the camps this month. It is amazing the difference in teams who have learned the background and culture of where they have come to serve. Subscribe to our … Continue reading
