Tomorrow our Intern for the summer, Amanda Collins, arrives to serve alongside SunErgos. She will be working at all of our ministry locations, experiencing first hand the scope of our work.
Amanda served with us as a team member last summer and now is coming back for three months.
Here is her testimony how God changed her through the three weeks last summer.
Last summer, I was blessed with the opportunity to go on a three week trip to Veliky Novgorod. My team and I held a camp for the children at a transit center and also got to visit an orphanage for toddlers. I was able to see how desperately these kids needed to know that someone cares. These kids were so thirsty for love and attention. God gave me a love for these kids and I will never forget them. It was such a blessing to be able to spend time with the kids and show them God’s love through our actions. God definitely expanded my worldview while I was on this trip.Russia stole my heart. I fell in love with the people, culture, and countryside. Last summer, I saw how God was working in Russia and working through SunErgos. I love SunErgos’ focus on the fatherless and poor. It is clear in scripture that we are to care for the less fortunate (Matthew 25:35-40; James 1:27), SunErgos’ ministry reflects that. After much prayer, I decided I wanted to return to Russia through SunErgos and join in what God is doing there! I am looking forward to being able to spend more time with the kids; my last trip went by way too fast. I learned so much from working with the kids and getting to know the translators; I know I have so much more to learn from them. I am humbled that God is allowing me to be a part of His work in Russia. I am so excited that I am able to come back this summer for three months to serve as an intern for SunErgos!
I’m so proud of Amanda and her spiritual growth and commitment to the children in Russia. I am praying for all your ministry opportunities in this exciting season! Blessings! Robyn
Welcome back to Russia, Amanda! I can’t wait to see you in Novgorod;)
