CBU: Novgorod – the final stretch!

An update from Novgorod: We cannot believe that we only have a week left here in Russia! The Lord has been so faithful to us as we are serving Him here and we are so thankful! Today we are writing to you with great praises; both our children’s team and our teen’s team have experienced great triumphs so far this week, AND it’s only Monday! Our children’s team has been able to continue planting Gospel seeds through storytelling and crafts. Many of the children know about the Bible and Jesus, but we are not sure of their salvation. Please pray … Continue reading

CBU: A day of rest!

Update from CBU A team: Today has been a day of rest and recharging! How awesome it was to worship at Calvary Chapel with other believers! Although we missed our heart language during worship, it was beautiful to hear voices raised in worship, in a foreign place! The message was translated into English, and spoke so directly to each one of us. We read from Mark 16, the Great Commission! The afternoon was spent at Tanya Mendakoff’s home. She served us a wonderful lunch of traditional Borscht. It was delicious. Then we traversed to the park where we spent an … Continue reading

Intern: Goodbye St Pete, hello Novgorod!

An update from our Intern, Amanda: It’s such a blessing to be back in the country that means so much to me! I’m so thankful that my flights went smoothly and I arrived here healthy! My first few days have been wonderful! I have been staying in Saint Petersburg and visiting the transit center. Jet lag hit me harder this year than last year, but I’m hoping to get adjusted to the time difference soon! I am learning how to get around in the city and have almost mastered the Metro, which is a big deal for someone who lives … Continue reading

CBU: News from Novgorod

Another update from the CBU team in Novgorod: I (Kristi) am pleased to tell you that our team has survived (and thrived) in our first week of minsitry in the transit centers here in Novgorod. In just one week, we have already learned so many of the stories of these children, and it burdens our hearts to labor even harder in order to share/plant seeds of the Gospel. So many of these children and teenagers come from unfathomable backgrounds, and our team has begun to feel the emotional repurcusions of this ministry. Please pray that we would continue to press … Continue reading

CBU: Almost done with first week…

First week of ministry is almost done and God has been doing amazing things through both teams from CBU!  Here is an update from the team working in St Petersburg: Priviet (Hello) Family and Friends! We are almost halfway through our journey here in Russia and it has been quite the experience! We had our first day of ministry at the transit center on Monday and have found out that flexibility with plans is the key to success here. The look on the team’s face was priceless as the youngest children at the center came into the room and we … Continue reading
